Zubin Kanga performs the UK premiere of Steady State by Alexander Schubert, featuring live brain-sensor control of music and holographic video.
Steady State
Pianist, composer and technologist, Zubin Kanga, performs the UKpremiere of Steady State, a groundbreaking new work by AlexanderSchubert. Staged as a futuristic laboratory experiment, with two robed labassistants, the work uses EEG brain sensors to detect the performers’ brainresponses to strobing holographic projections. These brain signals in turninfluence the visuals and music, creating a continuous audio-visual feedbackloop. The work blurs the lines between installation and performance, with theperformer turning into a transhuman processing unit in a work that explores thebody, computation, hallucination, and transcendence.
